Update your Firmware version
Following the initial release of AirPods Pro 2 Apple takes a step with minor day-one rollout of AirPods 5A377 Firmware which is only made available for the latest second generation AirPods as other versions won’t detect the update.
However Apple hasn’t affirmed the main functions of AirPods 5A377 Firmware by not releasing any Developer notes for this update, though it was released alongside watchOS 9.0.1 which likely serves the same function “Bug fixing”.
Initially, AirPods firmware updates are installed automatically but you can force update by following the below steps;
- Firstly check your AirPods Pro 2 current firmware version, to do that; connect your AirPods to iPhone successfully. Navigate to Settings >> AirPods Pro settings >> stroll to version and tap.
- If your Firmware version is yet to be updated you’ll be seeing the prior versions, something around 4E71.
To force update your AirPods Pro 2; connect the charging case to a power outlet with AirPods in place, connected to iPhone and lid open.
Close the lid while you wait patiently to be fully charged (100%) then reconnect and confirm your firmware version. Boom! AirPods 5A377 Firmware now at hand.
Try High Wattage Charger
To ensure fast charging of your AirPods Pro 2 when using either the Lightning to USB-C cable or Apple Watch MagSafe charger, you can use a 20W power adapter as a proper accessory to fast charge your AirPods.
Avoid Third-party Charger
It’s recommended to use the Lightning to USB-C cable shipped with the AirPods Pro 2 while charging it which may charge it accordingly using the expected wattage rate by the manufacturer.
